01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Crown Super Deluxe is a refined Teppanyaki restaurant and Japanese steakhouse nestled in the heart of Central, Hong Kong, specifically at Mezzanine 33, Wyndham Street. This stylish eatery brings the art of Teppanyaki to life, combining the sizzle and spectacle of live-cooking with premium Japanese beef cuts and fresh seafood. Its location makes it a coveted spot for business professionals by day and nightlife enthusiasts by evening, especially those who enjoy the vibrant nearby Lan Kwai Fong scene.

The dining experience here is thoughtfully crafted around an enticing menu featuring executive lunch sets and deluxe options, including renowned meats such as Wagyu and ribeye steak. Diners can expect their meals to be prepared with precision right before their eyes, elevating each bite with smoky, charred flavors and perfectly seared textures. The dishes command attention not only for their quality but for the delicate balance in richness, umami depth, and subtle seasoning that tease the palate with every mouthful.

As described by guests, the atmosphere strikes a modern and intimate tone, featuring sleek contemporary décor with a playful edge—evident even in unexpected touches like uniquely designed washroom wallpaper. While the restaurant was quiet during some visits, potentially affecting the vibe by lacking bustling energy, the attentive and warm service team more than compensated with attentive hospitality, adapting expertly to special requests such as allergy considerations or celebratory surprises.

Customer experiences highlight Crown Super Deluxe’s strengths: vibrant service that turns special occasions into memorable events, and a dedication to culinary finesse. One impressed diner recounted a delightfully orchestrated surprise birthday celebration featuring not just great food but also whimsical staff-led entertainment. The ribeye and Wagyu options garnered praise, though some noted the Wagyu’s richness might be a bit overpowering for sensitive palates. Pricing leans towards the premium end, reflecting the exclusivity and quality of ingredients, yet some patrons felt the value could be enhanced for the price, particularly regarding portions like wine pours.

Overall, Crown Super Deluxe in Central stands out as a sophisticated destination for those seeking an immersive Teppanyaki experience with impeccable service in an accessible Hong Kong locale. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or simply indulging in a refined Japanese steakhouse feast, this venue promises flavors that resonate and moments worth savoring.

Saw a lot of hype about this place opening, and we managed to get a reservation earlier in the week so thought would give it a try.. Not many new high end teppanyaki places in HK lately, and the location is obviously very convenient for those working in Central and the ones who like to hang out in LKF.. While there were still some early opening issues like timing the reservations and length of meal, the service is pretty good as with most other Black Sheep restaurants.. It's catered to more casual western clients, where the servers make a lot of friendly small talk with customers and.. The service style is not for everyone, and it may be a turn off for some... In terms of the food, we had high expectations and ordered the Deluxe set, which was priced at $1188. I would say the food was pretty good, but it wasn't wow and none of the dishes stood out... Portions were decent and the amount of beef was slightly more than other teppanyaki restaurants. There are definitely other places in HK with better quality at similar or even cheaper prices... But it's certainly a pretty good choice for the location, atmosphere and vibe. Like the service, I would say the food is not for everyone, especially not for foodies, or those who expect Japan quality teppanyaki, but it's good enough for most people.. Somehow the menu seemed like it was again catered to more westernized locals or expat crowd.. For those who like whiskey, they have an area in the back for after dinner drinks and desserts, and it was a nice area to just hang out.. Desserts were fine, but was quite generic and could have been served at any other restaurant. Overall, I would say it's pretty decent teppanyaki place in Central thats fine for their targeted clientele.. Would probably try again in the future after they smoothed things out after running it for a while..

Food is nice, wonderful service and environment. The surprise birthday celebration for me was v well prepared, with some staff magic entertainment provided too. Marvelous experience. Usually only open for dinners but due to covid measures currently they are opened for lunch appointments. Price and menu may refer to my photos.

Saturday lunch here, was good service and food, enjoyed the Executive Lunch set. Had the rib eye option. Atmosphere was lacking with no other person at restaurant expect us, so not as welcoming. Enjoyed the lunch, and the service was friendly. The washroom had fun wallpaper, quite different from the contemporary decor outside. Downsides was the emptiness, and the hand towels smelled of rancid oil. Likely from being laid out for so long and the open kitchen style. The restaurant gave us a small bottle of house sake to celebrate the birthday lunch, on the house :)

We had a really fun experience. Good vibes and service. We ordered the deluxe set and every dish was great. I would also say though that the experience is probably overpriced, so I don't think I would go back again. For that amount of money I expect something a bit more special. Although the wine was good, it was priced excessively for what it was, and the pours were shockingly small. That said, it you have money to spare, it is definitely fun.

I enjoyed the lunch. The staff were so friendly and considerate (reception was a bit off though as it took some time to take me to my seat). As I’m pregnant, they changed complimentary drink and two dishes for me. We tried executive lunch (HKD 480 to 780 per head depending on which beef you order). We ordered the wagyu beef which my friend really likes while I found it a bit oily and less tender as I do well-done (troublesome pregnant woman). I really like the veggie which are all from Japan, esp the tomato. I didn’t try coffee or desserts as I’m pretty full. Saw other ppl’s comments though. Maybe not a bad thing that I missed it. Will come back again with my husband to thank their curtesy and support the business.

Had a very enjoyable dinner, served by Chef Willie. We had the Super Dinner Set, loved the Japanese tomato with salt. Aussie Wagyu Steak was cooked just right, juicy and tender. The favourite though is our interaction with Chef. Will visit again for sure.

Food & services were perfect. You will feel very well taken care of from the moment you step into the restaurant. Food was amazing & the chef was friendly. The whisky lounge was a good way to end the meal, enjoy a whisky & some dessert. Great place for special occasion!
